Shopping for back to school can drain your wallet pretty quickly. Here are a couple tips to help your moolah go a long way.
1. Shop in the children’s section.
I know what you’re thinking…Wha? I’d never fit! But, you’re wrong! Places like Target and Old Navy have crazy size systems so a children’s large is the same as an adult extra small and a children’s extra large is the same as an adult small or medium. You can get the same styles for a fraction of the price!
These bermuda shorts are only $8.00 at Old Navy.
This dress is only $9.99 at Target!
2. Buy your makeup at the drugstore.
Yes, Mac and Stila are amazing, but we all have to make sacrifices sometimes. And when it comes down to it, Cover Girl and Maybelline are pretty good too. Just use real makeup brushes as opposed to those spongy things that come in the cheapie kits, and you will look great.
This Cover Girl eyeshadow set is only $4.99, compared to$19.50 at Mac.
3. Recycle last year’s stuff.
Fashions change, but not that much! Your skinny jeans and flats from last year are still in style. Instead of adding to your overflowing closet now, wait until Christmas or your birthday to ask for the things you really want.
Or go shopping in your besties’ closets. I bet you have clothes that you never wear, and that some of those clothes still have the price tag on! Well, maybe one of your friends would like them. Do some trading and you can shop without spending a dime!
What other suggestions do you have to stay on budget?
Wonderful for a single parent who doesn’t have a clue. Now the argument about your clothes from last year are not out of style just might work with the article for back up! Thanks.
