Ke$ha did not look her best at the 2011 Billboard Music awards last night. I don’t like to be mean, but she looked horrible. However, her dress was not ugly…it just wasn’t right for her body type. (Her stylist should have known better!) So, let’s learn from her mistake.

Ke$ha has a boxy shape, meaning her waist is about the same width as her bust and hips. When you put a cut out dress on this body shape, it actually makes your waist look bigger! That’s why she looks so wide in the dress.

Selena Gomez wore a similar style dress at the Billboard Music Awards.

She looked much better in it than Ke$ha because her dress accentuated her waist and gave her an hourglass figure.

Update: Selena Gomez Fashion Line

Last year I mentioned that Selena Gomez had started a fashion line and was searching for a retailer to carry it. Well, Kmart has just agreed to pick it up. Starting July 15th, it will be available in the US. For you international Mafiettes, the plan is to roll out in Australia in August 2010, and Mexico, Canada and Europe in 2011. Here are a few teaser pics.

Not quite the same as the outfits from the last set of released photos, but still pretty cute. I really hope that the missing pieces are still going to be available and just aren’t included in these photos. I really wanted that that first dress and the teal blazer.

I should als0 mention that nothing will be higher than $24. While that is a great deal, it also means they might have cut my dress and blazer from the line if they were too costly to manufacture.

Olsens to Launch Line at JC Penney’s

According to Women’s Wear Daily, Mary-Kate and Ashley are preparing to launch a juniors line exclusively at JC Penney’s.

Like other celebrity fashion lines, it will be made up of affordable pieces that can me mixed and matched to created a variety of different outfits.

From the few images that were available, I’m not completely blown away. Though I do like the purse in the first picture. The rest of the stuff is alright, but nothing to get too excited about.

And I don’t think it even compares to Selena Gomez’s upcoming line.

Unlike most celebrity fashion lines, I’m really looking forward to this one. Called Dream Out Loud, the line is “pretty, feminine and bohemian” like Selena’s own style, and I love what I’ve seen so far in WWD‘s sneak peek.

She hasn’t made a deal with any stores yet, so it will be quite a while before you can buy any of it. The projected launch date is sometime in fall 2010.

Trend #1: Peroxide Blonde

Blonde isn’t good enough anymore. This summer, the look is bleached blonde. Everyone from Taylor Momsen, Kate Moss, and So You Think You Can Dance’s Kayla Radomski is rocking a super duper blonde do.
