Prom: Vintage Style

Wednesday, March 21st, 2012

I often get emails from you ladies asking for help finding a cute vintage prom dress. True vintage is tough because you can’t count on condition.  Face it: the dresses are old, so fading and tears are to be expected.  That’s why I recommend looking for “vintage inspired” prom dresses. They have the look you want and are ready to wear right out of the box.

I recently came across Dig for Victory while surfing on Etsy and am head over heels for their vintage style prom dresses!

What About The Hair?

Wednesday, February 8th, 2012

I’ve been talking about dresses so much over here that I have completely neglected every other part of your look! Time to get on that and we might as well start from the top…literally.

If you are dead set on wearing a hair accessory for prom, you better start looking asap. After all, you can’t start thinking about a hairstyle until you know what is going in your hair.

Taking a cue from Aria’s look in last week’s Pretty Little Liars episode, why not try a fabric flowers and feathers.

OMG, I just adore the Zooey and Justin love thang going on! I wish he could stay on the series as a regular, don’t you? But alas, I think he only has one episode left of his 3 episode arc. :(  Ah well, at least we can count on the fashion. It’ll always be there.

At the top of the show, Jess pulled out her innocent inner school girl with a black pleated skirt and darling blue blazer with green cuffs.

How to Fix a Bad Hair Day

Monday, November 21st, 2011

Today I woke up with a huge cow lick. That’s a major problem with short hair…no weight to pull it down so it likes to stick straight up!  Needless to say, that got me thinking about hats and big flashy hair accessories, which are the perfect way to quickly take care of the problem.

Browsing for new additions to my collection, I stumbled upon this hat and accessory shop on Etsy: bethanylorelle. Her pieces have a glamorous vintage feel to them.  For me, nothing is cuter than a cloche hat!
