Alphabet Soup

Saturday, August 1st, 2009

Whenever I see stuff with my initial on it, I feel the need to buy it. Does anyone else have this problem? If you do, you better look away because you might be overwhelmed with the urge to buy everything in this post. :)

Personalized jewelry is a real weakness of mine. I love with this wax seal pendant by RitzyMisfit.

How to Shabby Chic

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009

I found this old foyer light/chandelier thing at a garage sale last weekend for $3 and decided to shabby chic it. (I didn’t think to write this post until after I took out the wiring and the three bulbs, so here it is all dismantled.)

Change It Up

Saturday, May 16th, 2009

I don’t know about anyone else, but every once in a while I just need a change.  Sometimes I cut my hair, sometimes I take an afternoon vacay, and sometimes I redecorate my room.  Redecorating is definitely my favorite choice. Adding a few new items to your decor can totally change the feel of your room.

How glamorous would you suddenly feel with this chandelier hanging in your room?

Nature Inspired Decor

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

Nature often provides the best inspiration for home decor. Colors from the light blue sky, bright yellow daffodils, and juicy red apples can serve as jumping off points for your potential designs. Textures like knotted wood, warm wool, and hard metals provide the depth needed to build out your vision.  And shapes like strong trees, whimsical butterflies, and graceful birds add the final touches to your room.

If you find your creative instincts stifled, take a moment to enjoy your outside surroundings to get your creative juices flowing.
