Safety pins are a crafter’s dream. They are the go-to shortcut for many of my projects.  Though hidden and discreet, they’ve recently made it to the forefront and are a chic new trend.

I was disappointed to find that those bags are hundreds/thousands of dollars out of my price range, but then I found this for only $50!

This one is a bit more ($82), but so cute it might be worth it!

So I might not be able to afford an Alexander McQueen purse, but those safety pin necklaces are way cuter anyway!

What do you think of this trend?

  1. Thanks so much for including me! Just made two more today…red and black with silver pins and wine and black with silver…hopefully will get them on my shop tomorrow.

  2. This trend made me laugh a bit, because in the early 80’s, when I was like in 3rd grade, the trend was “friendship pins” where you would decorate little safety pins with colorful beads and trade them with your friends. Of course, it was always a contest to have the most on the top lace (closest to the toe of the shoe) of your sneaker! Does anyone else remember this?
