What Goes Around Comes Around – Ripped Jeans

If you’re anything like me, it may seem to you that fashions come back around very quickly – I can still remember my older sister sashaying around in her gloriously-ripped jeans last time it was acceptable to do so. I think I was first alerted to this reappearance by this Who What Wear post. The celebrities who have been stepping out in such clothing include Peaches Geldof and Rihanna:

They seem quite versatile, but I’m still not sure if I could pull them off.

I say go for it! Personally, I prefer jeans that look like they were naturally ripped. I know the super holey ones are in style, but I think they just look weird and unflattering with all those holes down the front!

Meh. When the paint-covered denim trend came along, I said, “shoot, if I want jeans covered in paint, I’ll go paint my living room in them! It’ll be cheaper.” My opinion on buying ripped jeans is much the same. It seems like a vast waste of money to buy pre-torn jeans that will wear out all the faster. If I want jeans with holes in the knees, I can cut them up myself.
Plus, those zebra-stripe tears? A little funky-looking. I gotta go with Queen Bee on more natural-looking holes.

I have these jeans I’ve had for two years, and they didn’t used to be ripped, but they sure are now!
I don’t think that look is for me, but you should definitely try it yourself!
