Back To School With Republic
September 11th, 2009 | Posted by Art DecadenceAt my 6th Form (‘section’ of English schooling, aged 16-18), we have a dress code and whilst it has been loosened, the main gist of it is that we must stick to black, white, grey and cream. I sometimes struggle to find monochromatic clothes that are original and individual – it seems like everyone is wearing the same thing!
For a little inspiration, I surf my favourite stores’ websites, and it’s amazing what you can find! One of my very favourite shops is Republic and if I had the money, I’m sure I could create my whole school wardrobe from their fantastic clothes!
This dress for example, can be worn on a night out, but teamed with leggings or skinnies and a jacket could easily be worn to school. It also seems to me a little Gossip Girl-esque – can’t you see Serena wearing it?
This dress is casual but cute at the same time and has a degree of individuality created by the brace-straps.
If you’re more of a rock-chick, this dress could be better to suit your style.
Whether you’re a Brit (like me!) or just have some appreciation, this top is perfect. Once again, team it with leggings or black skinny jeans and you’ll have just the right amount of grunge needed to pull it off.
No fashion-savvy girl can resist Paris, so why not show off your love with this gorgeous, arty vest depicting the romantic and iconic city in black and white.
What’s that? You need shoes? Well, I’d be happy to oblige! Shoes are one of my downfalls – but a girl can never have too many, right?
To pair with these outfits – and for school – I’d go with some cute flats such as these.
Or a quirky pair like these.
Or, if you can manage heels, these kitten heels would glam up any outfit.
As Queen Bee has previously stated, black and white is definitely not boring – you just have to have the right resources at your fingertips! (Good thing we’re here then, really!)
